Hardware Board Support

Advantech-Innocore provides software and firmware support for connecting physical hardware such as buttons, lights, and identity management etc… Located on the DPX-Motherboard, where additional Software support is required to complement the hardware.

Advantech-Innocore's DPX®-Series boards have a GPIO header that is a very flexible multi-purpose interface that can be used to connect a variety of simple one- or two-wire devices. The Dallas iButton® is one such device and iButton devices are available for a number of different functions. The GPIO interface supports any 1-wire® bus device and typical uses could include special purpose I/O, security, memory and data storage.

  • Store slot machine status information for easy retrieval by slot technicians
  • Electronic ID can provide access control to hardware E-cash and player tracking system
  • Unique ID’s and encryption to lock software against cloning
  • RTC (Real – Time – Clock) to control time-restricted licensing in game title

The trusted platform module (TPM) chip included on Advantech-Innocore DPX® Series main boards is an advanced security co-processor offering a high level of hardware-based security for application development and deployment. Offering customers 2 main functions.

 

Firstly, to tie the application to the main board: the application will only run on a main-board configuration you determine. Various identifiers can be used including:

  • Hardware configuration available
  • PCI devices
  • Version of BIOS
  • Version (model) of board Specific board-unique key

Secondly, to tie the main board to the applicaion, the main board will only run the application you determine. Only applications prepared with the correct encryption keys will load and run on the main board.
