International Game Technology, the global leader in computerized gaming machines and systems chose the DPX-116 to power the first release of their revolutionary multiplayer game system, the MP Series™ which has been on show at several international tradeshows. The DPX-116 provided IGT with an off-the-shelf product with most of the gaming features needed included in a compact, high performance computer board. Product development time was considerably shortened with the DPX-116 and thousands of MP Series games were produced. (IGT has since release an updated version of this product based on the widely used IGT standard slot machine platform)

The powerful on-board graphics controller of the DPX-116 powers the attractive wide-screen user-interface of the MP Series products and their ultra stylish “high-tech” cabinet design is facilitated by the DPX-116’s small size, high level of integration and lower power/cooling requirements. Furthermore IGT was able to take advantage of the ConnectBus® architecture to produce a highly reliable back-plane based design allowing for easy board installation and replacement and simplified cabling within the cabinet.

Advantech-Innocore Gaming’s comprehensive software API helped IGT’s application developers quickly develop software to utilize the I/O and security features such as the NVRAM, cabinet intrusion monitoring, security ROM, watchdog timers and others that were needed and which are includedon the DPX-116. Advantech-Innocore also helped with BIOS customization and boot ROM development as part of the project.

Edward Price, Advantech-Innocore Gaming’s Managing Director, commented, “We are extremely pleased to make this significant design win announcement with IGT. It represents the culmination of significant work in the engineering department but also from our quality and manufacturing staff. To become a qualified vendor for IGT meant meeting IGT’s stringent requirements for quality control and manufacturing processes. Our staff worked collaboratively in the USA, UK and Taiwan to successfully manage the vendor approval process and gain ‘approved vendor status’. We look forward to a long, successful and growing business relationship between Advantech-Innocore Gaming and IGT.”
